Join us Sunday April 27th, 2025 for a river clean up on Buck Creek in Springfield, OH. 

Start Time: 10:30 am

Meeting Place: Snyder Park Whitewater Park

Event details: We will be hosting our traditonal river clean up where we will stay at the Snyder Park Play waves and focus solely on cleaning the park. We are also teaming with Columbus Paddling Club for a special cart removal clean up. We have tagged 6 shopping carts in Buck Creek and will be working to remove as many of the tagged carts as we can.  We are seeking volunteers for both events.

Traditonal Clean Up: This clean up is for those that are looking to stay on land. We will focus solely on cleaning the trash in the park. There will be a booth set up at the play waves with all the essentials needed to help clean the park.

Cart Removal: This clean up involves shuttling from the play waves to the put in at Carleton Davidson Stadium and paddling back down to the play waves, removing as many of the tagged carts as possible, along the way. If you are looking to volunteer for this we ask that you possess intermediate paddling skills and bring all the necessary equipment needed to paddle. This includes: Kayak, Paddle, Helmet, Lifejacket, Skirt, Throw Rope, and whistle. We also recommend a dry suit. If you have swift water equipment, and are familiar with z drags, you are welcome to bring those along. We ask that if you do not possess adequate paddling skills, or have the necessary equipment to please join us for the traditional clean up instead. 

Following the clean ups we will have Pizza and Surfing as a thank you for volunteering.
